Thor Poster Progression
When Marketing a new film its important for the films poster to progress along with the film for example when the first poster was released (below) it showed only the Title of the film and Chris Hemsworth as the infamous Thor, we did not know when the film was released, what other stars where going to appear in the film and this therefor already started a buzz about a film that no one really knew about.
The Second Poster released(below) allowed us to see more of the cast of Thor, although we still had little information, we were able to see exactly who was in the film yet we had no idea what role they played.
The Third Posters that were released had the release date for the film (US RELEASE DATE) at this time many posters where released of different characters to again allow the audience to get an understanding of the film, also for the first time we are allowed to see the background to the images which also give us an indication of what the films going to be about for example the explosions in the background on the poster below leads us to believe that their is going to be a mighty battle, we also get to see who the 'baddy' is in the film.
And Finally the last posters that are released with all information including distributors, and who the rights are to. Also shows the two main characters.
